Who doesn't love a small town diner? It appears this place has been here a long time. The plexi protection still hangs in place between the booths. The chairs have all but given up on the patting for your backside. You come in a double door and walk right past the kitchen. I actually like this cause you can see all the hard work going on. One gentleman is working the kitchen as another gets us seated. The menu is full of fine options. It is early in the day so the breakfast is what I am after. I go for the Mexican skillet and the waiter gives me the heads up it's spicy. My husband orders the chicken fried steak. Side of pancakes. You better be hungry cause the portions are no joke. Food took the appropriate time considering one cook for our four top. The restaurant that was quiet started to pick up. You can tell most were loyal locals by the cut chat with the waiter and cook when they came in. My skillet was hot and I enjoyed our. My husband stole me my side of pancakes and ate his big meal too. Good overall experience. I love small town places like this.

Good food, wonderful workers, it's family-owned; and it feels like it. I personally really like their pizza burgers and bacon burgers.

Don't be fooled by the name. This place has way more than snacks, and puts all other diners to shame. It has incredible prices and some of the best diner food I've had. The service is also friendly and fast. My father and I stopped in here on a Friday afternoon. It was extremely clean and well organized, with all the tables set and every surface shining. Cool, black and white photos of old Iowa line the walls in tasteful black frames. Many of them are of different locations in Nevada, and it was fun seeing the town in different stages of its existence. The owner, or who I believe to be the owner, was the only one working because it was 3pm, and he did it all--gave us great service, a friendly demeanor, and two of the most delicious burgers we've ever had. The sirloin burgers were 1/2 pound and came with homemade vegetable soup which was all the best we've had. Clearly not from a can. My father said it was the first time in years he'd ordered soup at a restaurant and finished the entire bowl. Each meal was only $7.50, and for the quality and amount of meat, I thought that was pretty outstanding. The menu is full of options, and all are priced so low you'd think it was 1995 again. We'll definitely be back.

Had a great lunch here as I was passing through town. I went for the daily special. A bacon cheese burger and a side cup of Wisconsin cheese soup for $6.50. What a deal! I will definitely stop by next time I'm in the area.

Snack Time Family Restaurant has been a Nevada icon for as long as I can remember. I am 38 and I know this place has been open longer than I have been around. There have been a few other family restaurants in town over the years (such as Hartzer House) but unlike those other restaurants, Snack Time has stayed in business and served up hungry patrons for decades. There's nothing at all fancy about Snack Time. The restaurant is actually set up a bit on the strange side. When you walk in the kitchen is directly on the left. No doubt you'll be greeted by Chef Eddie, who has been the head cook there for many years. The seating area is pretty typical, with a few booths and mostly tables and the walls are covered with old photos of town and maps from around the area. The restrooms, a few coolers and the dishwashing area are in the back. Just your basic decor. Some people think it's the atmosphere that keep people coming in the doors but for me it's their food. I especially love their breakfast menu. Eddy makes one of the best chicken-fried steaks I've ever had. They have your typical breakfast fare here and the pancakes are great! The lunch and dinner menus are your basic diner fare as well, probably nothing that would shock anyone. The food here is the reason to go! My only drawback with Snack Time is that they're a little behind the times. They only take cash, no credit or debit cards. I've heard they're planning on changing this, but have yet to see that. So, if you plan to eat there, it's a good idea to get cash first if you don't already have it on you. There is an ATM across the street at the bank. Overall, Snack Time is a great small-town eatery that has stayed in business over the years because of a great local following and good food.
